Classic Leather was founded by Thomas H. Shores Sr. in Hickory, North Carolina in 1966. Classic Leather is the oldest leather upholstery specialist in the country. It is a family- and employee-owned and operated company that employs over 280 skilled craftspeople and artisans. Most of them are second- and third-generation craftspeople from the region.
Classic Leather is a vertically-integrated manufacturer. They own and operate their own frame manufacturing shop; cushioning fabricator; leather marking, cutting, and sewing operation; and upholstery processes. Classic Leather offers over 600 styles of furniture that can be matched with any of their 200 leathers and 250 fabrics.
The company creates high-quality and stylish living room furniture to suit any home, which includes a wide assortment of sofas, sectionals, chairs, and ottomans. They also offer an array of recliners, incliner chairs and reclining sofas.
Classic Leather also makes furniture for the rest of the home. They offer a wide selection of bar stools, dining chairs, office chairs, and motorized home theater chairs.
Classic Leather partnered with motorcycle maker Harley Davidson in 2008 to create a new collection of leather furniture. These pieces are inspired by Harley Davidson’s design, shape, and custom options.
The TAG collection was created by award-winning designer TAG Galyean. This resort-inspired collection combines casual spirit, American attitude, and Classic Leather’s superior quality and comfort. It is intended for homeowners who have a refined and casual style.
