Century Furniture is one of the largest privately held luxury furniture makers in the world. Century Furniture began operating as an upholstery selling agent in 1947. Since then, the company has grown dramatically and now operates a casegoods facility with sophisticated woodworking and finishing operations, as well as three upholstery factories in Hickory, North Carolina. It has experienced steady growth throughout its history.

Century’s plant has its own machining, frame fabrication, and upholstery operations that specialize in custom upholstery. Customers can choose from a wide selection of over 2,500 fabrics, or they can provide their own chosen material to complement any of Century’s almost 300 frames. The company also offers a broad selection of cushion fillings, trims, and finishing details to create custom furniture pieces.

Century Furniture’s collection includes pieces for the entire home. Their bedroom furniture selection includes wooden headboards and benches, while their dining room collection features a wide array of tables, sideboards, credenzas, servers, consoles, buffets, cabinets, and hutches, as well as arm and hostess chairs, straight and curved back chairs, and stools. Century’s living room furniture collection includes sofas, chairs, chaises, tables, cabinets, chests, etageres, benches, consoles, secretaries, and lamps. Their commitment to high quality standards shows in each of their carefully crafted traditional and modern furniture pieces.

Century Furniture is committed to following environmentally-conscious policies. The company has taken steps to reduce its environmental footprint by using wood that is sourced from sustainably managed forests where workers receive fair wages. Century Furniture has received a Sustainable by Design registration and became a Sustainable Furniture Council/Rainforest Alliance company in 2013.
